MMMC was retained in September 2018 to collaborate with the Region of Niagara on the planning and redevelopment of two Municipal Long-term Care Homes - Linhaven in St. Catharines and Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie. Currently in Phase 1, stakeholder and community visioning sessions have taken place and site master planning is underway. The final stage of Phase 1 is the development of 3 schematic designs for each of the long-term care homes and Class D cost estimates to assist the Region in the next steps of the redevelopment decision making process. SvN Planners, Toronto are working with MMMC on the Master Planning stage.
The new Acclaim Health Dementia Care Centre is set to transform dementia care in Halton Region. This project will see a large industrial building in Oakville converted to a multi-faceted hub that will include a seniors day program, caregiver support areas, a year-round recreation garden and administrative space.
Elgin County will be redeveloping the existing 100-bed Terrace Lodge into an ‘A’ facility with a phased project involving the construction of an addition followed by a 3-phased renovation. Estimated completion is November 2023.
MMMC is pleased to be collaborating with Radiant Care on the redevelopment of Pleasant Manor LTC in Virgil, Ontario. Master Planning is nearing completion with design and construction to follow.
A Charitable, Non-Profit Seniors Residential Community located in Cambridge, Ontario. MMMC is retained to prepare a Campus Master Plan and Preliminary Design for the redevelopment of a new 114 resident long-term care facility to new MOHLTC design standards. The potential for an additional 28 residents is also being considered. The new long-term care facility will be built in two phases to avoid the downsizing of services to residents during construction which expected to begin in 2019. The project is currently awaiting Ministry approval and financing.
The first phase of this new London, ON student residential campus will include two 4-storey buildings containing a total of 56 student suites. (Phase 1 to be complete in 2019) Each suite is a self-contained 4 bedroom furnished apartment containing a full kitchen, living room, washer / dryer, and four private bedrooms each having a private bathroom. A central amenity building 'clubhouse' will provide group and private study rooms, fitness centre, social lounge with billiards, kitchen and soft seating, and a sales centre. Lower level provides bicycle and locker storage lockers. An outdoor private terrace is perfect for community gatherings and social events. Phase 2 to be completed in 2020, and Phase 3, which will provide additional student residential buildings is to be completed in 2021.
The Phase Two expansion of Chartwell’s existing Royalcliffe Retirement Residence is designed to be architecturally compatible to Phase One and enhance the services available to residents on the site. The seven-storey, high density addition will add 131 Independent Supportive Living Suites and 32 Memory Living suites above a two-level, under building parking structure. The assortment of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites provides a diverse mix of living accommodations. Residents will have access to barrier-free amenities including dining and recreation spaces, outdoor landscaped areas, walking paths and a secure courtyard.
A new 4 storey, 122 unit Retirement Residence in Orangeville, ON, complementing the existing facility of similar size. Phase II will include 24 studio units, 65-one bedroom apartments, and 33-two bedroom apartments along with comfortable dining and entertainment spaces. The new building will be connected to the existing structure with a generous first story link and will be fully accessible. Scheduled for completion in 2020.
MMMC is proud to be working closely with Hospice Vaughan in the design and construction of their new 10-bed residential hospice, which will stand as a “Center of Excellence for Palliative Care” in the Vaughan community. Currently in construction, scheduled for completion in 2020.
