“The Village” at Bruyere Continuing Care
A seniors’ “Village” has been created with the addition of seniors’ supportive housing units and independent living apartments adjacent to Saint-Louis Residence of Bruyere Long-term Care. The supportive housing facility includes one and two-bedroom apartments as well as innovative “co-housing clusters” which resemble bachelor apartments sharing common living and support spaces for the frail elderly and those with early dementia.
All units are fully accessible and incorporate special features to help allow seniors to “age in place” for as long as possible. The ground floor houses a number of amenities: a wellness centre including a fitness centre, a small spa, common meeting rooms and retail. Renovations in the existing building include an enhanced cafe, games rooms, hair salon, and other amenities.
Three separate apartment buildings for independent living have also been constructed on the site.
