Gilmore Lodge – Seniors’ Community Wellness Hub

Adjoined to the new long-term care, the one-storey Gilmore Community Wellness Hub features an Adult Day Program area, exercise room, physio-therapy, washrooms and shower facilities, program kitchen and dining, café seating small and large programming areas, conference room, office and meeting spaces and courtyard access. The café and hair salon spaces were designed to offer services to both long-term care and residents and seniors from the surrounding community.

The Gilmore Community Hub will be home to the Niagara Region’s Community Services Adult Day Programs, Healthy Safe and Strong Falls Prevention Exercise Programs, Seniors Outreach Programs, and Respite Companion Support Programs.

An EarlyON Centre will be incorporated into the community hub, providing a multi-generational experience to local seniors.

Demonstrating leadership, the Niagara Region is pursuing WELL Building Standard certification at the Silver level for this project, delivering a wellness hub and long-term care home with a holistic approach to health in the built environment.
